Three generations of hospitality on the Amalfi Coast
The beginnings: Pioneers of hospitality
In 1952, Donato Esposito, originally from Praiano, and Teresa De Luca, from Amalfi, were among the first to believe in the potential of this extraordinary coastline. In those pioneering years, when the Amalfi Coast was just beginning to reveal its beauty to the world, they were already welcoming the first travellers. Thus, from a small bar-restaurant with just a few rooms, what would become a long family tradition was born.
A new chapter in Conca dei Marini
In 1988, this vision found a new home: Le Terrazze, in Conca dei Marini.
A structure built in 1960, suspended between sky and sea, in one of the most evocative locations on the coast.
Emilia, daughter of Donato and Teresa, and her husband Marcello Prudente took up the baton. Together, they chose to continue the family tradition, developing the hotel, constantly renovating it, but preserving its soul.
The third generation: growing up among these terraces
Today, this story continues with the third generation. Elisabetta plays an active role in the day-to-day management of the hotel, bringing with her what she learned growing up among these terraces suspended between sky and sea. Her sisters, Teresa – a solicitor who proudly bears her grandmother's name – and Mariella, a naval engineer, have chosen different career paths but remain deeply attached to the family business. Born and raised here, they share a sensitivity that cannot be taught: attention to detail, empathy and respect for guests.
It is the soul of the hotelier, handed down as a precious heritage.
Our DNA: hoteliers since the beginning
More than seventy years after those first steps, Hotel Le Terrazze continues to be a home rather than just a hotel.
Every guest who is welcomed enters a story made up of people, sea, memories and passion. The same authenticity that grandfather Donato and grandmother Teresa offered to the first travellers still lives on today: in every smile, every gesture, every terrace overlooking the infinite.
